Homemade Cakes Raise Funds

Is someone asleep in the background? Two of our members, Ann Burdett and Diana Taylor, have once again excelled at raising funds for us.

Having spent a considerable amount of their own time, not to mention money, baking cakes that they could sell to raise funds for us, they also had some fantastic aprons made with our logo and bought a gazebo to keep them dry while they sold their fayres.

They spent the weekend at Scolton selling their cakes and running a 'name the doll' competition, which nobody got correct so that will be rolled over to their next event which will be at the Picton Centre in November.

Between them they raised the fantastic sum of £140 from the cakes and £20 from the competition, so a really worthwhile effort.

The SCA would like to thank them both for all their hard work; it is through this kind of dedication that we are able to continue our work for the birds.
